British Rodeo Cowboys Association Popular Bookmark
The BRCA was founded by Stuart Powell of the Bar-S-ranch,Fawkham,Kent,who started running rodeos in 1978.

He decided that as western riding and rodeo events had only a small following at the time, he would need to attract competitors from all over the UK, and it would a whole weekend show to make it worthwhile. It also meant that british rodeo would need to bring together all types  of western riding competitions with all levels of expertise .The Bar-S-rodeos were born in 1978,and these all weekend shows soon became known as the best, biggest and most enjoyable all around shows in the UK.

In 1995,the Bar-S-Ranch produced a full exam system to help improve the standard and knowledge about western riding, and to set standards for instructors and judges. In August 1996, inorder to promote all forms western riding and where possible to work and compete with other western associations, the British Rodeo Cowboys Association BRCA was formed.
This rule book is written for the BRCA shows and rodeos. Where shows are affiliated to more than one association, it is recommended that BRCA members should be willing to work with other  association rules and under other judges when necessary, conduct themselves in a friendly and professional manner, upholding the good name of the BRCA.
