BBC London Breakfast TV are looking for viewers to 'Champion' their sport, emails they find of interest could lead to a television peice going on on breakfast TV.
I emailed suggesting that they cover the Youth team and I thought the more of us that email in the more likely they will notice us.
Or they might not but there's no harm in trying...
Just to go off on a slightly different tack, does anyone know of any good videos/dvds that really explain and show what Western Riding is all about to the 'English' fraternity? There are no shows/clinics/demos in my area to take people to so I thought a video would be the next best thing. It would need to show the various disciplines and classes and possibly some training techniques.
I am also trying to promote the versatility of the QH/Paint in disciplines other than Western as I feel this is where the market lies in my area so anything I can use to demonstrate this would be most welcome. I have already broached this subject through a local riders forum and there was quite a lot of interest. Obviously a live demo would be ideal but would not be financially viable due to my location.
It doesn't have to be a commercial video, possibly some of you trainers out there have made some of your own that could be useful?

I got David Grays western riding the basic DVD as a present, as an intorduction to the sport it is good and gives you a quick overview of the classes for showing.
Have you thought of booking an instructor to do a clinic with you and the other people who were interested could give it a bit of ago?

Thank you. I am in Northumberland and unfortunately there are no trainers up here. I would also find it difficult to get people to go on a clinic when they have never, and I mean, never, seen Western before. I need to spark their interest first by showing them how it is done properly and not like the 'yee ha' image they tend to have! Dressage at all levels is very popular up here and since Western is more akin to dressage than any other discipline I think people would find the comparison very interesting.
