Just noticed that AQHA UK is not included in the list of club receiving the new western magazine Free Rein :o - anyone know why? I don't happen to be a member of any of the others (nothing old enough to ride yet!) and thought i would be included in the general free mailout - thanks admin for putting the registration option up otherwise I would have missed it! ;D ;D

Top honcho's at AQHA-UK have decided they do not want their members to recieve this mag. If you want this mag, lobby D. Teideman and tell him it's their members right as each society will have their own page/pages.

As many AQHAUK members will also me a member of at least one of the other organisations they will get a copy anyway, so trying to stop members getting it would be futile and why would anyone want to do that anyway?
I believe they will be given away free at shows too so can't see any logic in that stance if true.

Really - I have to ask why too and will email DT today to ask exactly that. I suppose they might have some issue with releasing members details, but usually these things are posted out by organisations that do specifically this and are protected under Data Protection Legislation. If that is how this magazine is being distributed I can't see what reason they would have for not being involved. Seems like a brilliant opportunity missed to me. Off to email now (after looking at a broodmare ;D)

My understanding is that magazine will be distributed by such an organisation, so I can't see that Data Protection is the issue.

My understanding of the situation is that AQHA see this magazine as being in direct competition with their journal and so do not want it distributed to their members.
