Just wanted to let all know that I received a very nice email from David T today thanking me for approaching him with my query and explaining that they are looking into the Data protection act issues and will be discussing it at Council level. When they have come to some decision it will be posted on their website.
Nice to see that these things can be bought up in a constructive manner and not taken as bit****g or backstabbing. Will wait with baited breath for next installment.

I thought that some where I had requested a copy of Free rein If not how do I get a copy? A mag covering all the different things going on would be ideal as I get lost with all the different associations and wonder if this puts some newcomers off.

Hi Jude, where did your copy come from? Did AQHA UK decide to send it to members? The AQHA web site doesn't seem to say anything more from their original statement ???

Hi Mark,
I signed up for my copy via this website - I have not had any further updates from the AQHA UK and it appears they are not making any further public comment. The claim was "data protection" issues but possibly a larger issue was the fact that this magazine will require subscription after the initial complementary copies therefore allowing the magazine to be sent to members directly from the mailing list without giving them an opportunity to opt out may be construed as 'misuse of members trust'.
Either way, the magazine is good enough that it won't be unduly effected by the failure of the AQHA UK to take up the offer.
In my humble opinion, a far bigger shame is the fact that there was no AQHA/AQHAUK report page in there - with so many other societies taking up the opportunity to gain exposure to genuinely interested individuals it seems a great opportunity missed.

Morning everyone,
FreeRein left the mailing house on Monday so should arrive today for all those who sent me their details or who are members of the nine organisations that have signed up to the idea. If it does not turn up by tomorrow please let me know!

Best wishes,
Tally
