An excellent article, David. If the affiliation works as put forward, I cannot see any objection to it. By affiliating we increase the Western riding proportional representation and, presumably, the share of any funding so what have we got to lose? OK, there will always be back-biting and arguments between individuals, that is human nature, but surely it is better to do that from within BEF rather than from the outside? We can't influence something we're not a part of. I have no axe to grind, I don't know the people involved. I'm only a breeder but I accept that, long term, I will benefit if the Western profile is increased and the best way for that to happen is if everyone works together. We will never gain respect if all people see is the in-fighting between the various societies. As they say,'united we stand, divided we fall'!
