According to NRHA's website , the General Members Meeting held on 11.10.07 has passed the following change to its Byelaws: Section 6. No exhibitor or owner may be required to be a member of any organization other than the National Reining Horse Association in order to compete in an approved reining event. Exception: NRHA/US Equestrian Federation dual approved events. This change was not supported by the NRHA Board! I assume that this will require British Reining to change its own rules.
Allen Mitchels was voted in as Vice President beating the Board's Nominee.

I don't know the implications yet for members of BR for next year but I certainly intend to support them, especially as the sport is growing and we all need to support their efforts. I do not have a horse at the moment which is ready to ride but will continue with my membership.

Whilst I believe this is a good move for freedom of choice and I have no specific need to be a BR member, I will also renew my BR membership, this I believe is the right thing to do and I hope that BR will keep up the good work that was put into the last show.
Lets all give BR a chance to prove that they are a worthwhile organisation and the there is a bright future for reining in the UK.
