They are about, people just don't want to pay the worth of a fully trained quarter horse.
However, you can pick up a bargain, just have to search around.

On another point, can anyone tell me if they have actually sold a horse via the western shop, or do just loads of people look!!!!!!

too true! i advertised my daughter's horse on both here and english sites and it still took 2 years to sell him. admittedly, we were a bit fussy about who to sell him to, but it all worked out in the end. i think its good to advertise and to speak to people at shows, esp. trainers, as they know who's got what for sale.

Hi

What i find is that people dont tend to part with a good fully trained quarter horse in uk as they are hard to come by, but occasionally if some one is moving abroad etc one comes up but they are like gold dust. I couldnt find one to suit me so ended up buying 3year old which is usually a big no no for a beginner but i have kept him with a trainer and that has really worked for me. even though the expense is alot to keep him in training after everything it probably works out closely to buying a trained older horse and ive enjoyed learning with him.

I too have a youngster in training but im looking for a trained horse to get me in the show ring,so im then ready for my youngster when she ready. My nerves are awful as is my riding.

I think ive found one "fair little playgirl" i have her on a trial period to see if i can cope with the riding on my back, also to see how she goes with forest flies and pigs.
