Wow, makes me feel a fat lazy lump! She was awesome.
If I make it to 101... well, I'll no doubt be even more cantankerous then I am now, but will have the pleasure of not giving a darn!
I can't imagine being that old... but thing is, Connie didn't look that old, so it really does tell you a lot about attitude huh?
My Mom is 78 this year and she has acted old since we lost my Dad in 1985... she let a part of herself go with him, and it's been awful watching this previously strong woman decay in front of my eyes since I was a kid...
I know there are things I have gone through that could have done that to me, and so far I haven't let them... Connie obviously, would have seen a lot over those 100+ years that may have made her want to curl up and die, but she didn't...
I hope, if I make it to that age I have the same love of life, and ability to climb up on my horses as she did. She is truly inspiring.
Thank you for posting the link. And how awful to have lost her that way, but as Joey says... that probably was the "best" way for her to go... she would never be the "die in hospital/nursing home" type I bet.
