Which tree is best? 2007/05/12 17:52 Karma: -1
Just started to learn western and now looking to buy saddle, so many trees!!! flexi, wooden, moulded, semi quarter full quarter, which is best?  Parelli have fantastic designer looking lightweight flexi panel saddle with a price to match, so many USA models is Pullman, Circyle Y, the best?  Anyone with experience of these saddles please help????  I have bought a youngster who will probably change shape, I am small and so is she 14hh can one buy light weight in the UK?

hi angie

re saddles, suggest you contact jeannine march, lee rutter at oakridge, david deptford at sovereign or susie anderson re shapes, etc. they will also know of second hand saddles which are around too.

Hi Angie

I went in completely blind (short of a little internet research) re: saddle fitting; Don Feschner at the Boots and Saddles Company sorted me with a Westwood Platinum saddle about 5 weeks ago; I spent 9 hours in it this weekend and neither horse nor I are at all tender so that can only be a good thing!

Really happy with that saddle right now!

Sorry, meant to mention it's a wooden tree/QH bars; I took some advice towards a solid wood tree vs a flexi tree much earlier on this topic or similar.
