trail gate 2007/05/15 12:53 Karma: 0
Hi

I am hoping someone can help me here, I would like to buy or get someone to make me a practice trail gate.
If anyone knows either where I can buy one or the dimensions for one so that I can get it made I would be very grateful if they could let me know.
Thanks

I believe that Border are not manufacturing these any longer... :'(

Try http://www.areanamate.co.uk

Or contact Dave Crossland who's wife Linda runs Westernscene http://westernscene.co.ukas he has made them to order in the past.

We have one from arena mate and it is well made and lightweight to handle.
But it is quite bulky if you wanted to transport it - takes up one side of an Ifor trailer and not sure I'd risk neddy in the other side!
I have seen ones where the feet fold up to tfit in the back of a truck - not sure where they come from.
Also, anyone buying their own trail gate, please get some sandbags/filled water containers to stabilise it when in use. Not much point having one if it falls over and scares your horse to death!

HI

I bought one from arena-graider last year, I agree sand bags are a must and they are big and not that easy to transport or store!!

On the other hand they are great to use and fairly priced(though not cheap!)
