Does anyone know of suppliers in the UK of the new Rambo QH rugs? My friend has a 16.1hh QH and is looking for a fly rug that will fit his build. I can't find anything on Google.

I have the fly rug and they are not very generous I am afraid to say. We bought a 6'3" to fit our 15H QH (she is 6'3 in all other rugs) and she is not a very chunky build like some. we thought great it will fit a QH bum !! but sadly it didn't. In the end we had to have a rug swap around and put it on the 14.2 QH. One I put it on the mare I went back to check the bag to see if they had send me the right size as it was that small. ???

I quite like the premier fly rugs, we have one in 6'6 for our 15.1H QH who is slightly on the 'plump' side. I have a 16.2 Danish WB and he is wearing a stateline tack fly and gnat rug which is awesome, but sadly they have stopped shipping to the uk at the moment as they were bought out. If you can get one of them I think you would be happy with it (we have two)

THe rambo QH nylon sheet is nice though

Useful to know if the Rambo QH rugs are still not ample enough in the bum!

Rug fit mystifies me - Jack's a very chunky 15.2hh QH, and for stable/turnout rugs, Weatherbeeta, Horsewear ireland, Shires & Fal all fit him lovely (even with full neck) in a 6 foot 3. Fly rugs, in the same brands, forget it.

6 foot 3 Weatherbeeta or Horeswear Ireland fly rugs both threaten to strangle the poor beast grazing so I got him a 6 foot 5, which is barely big enough in the neck (fine in the bum). Got a 6 foot 6 lined up to try when he next rips the 6 foot 3 one....

Cheerio

Just seen these rugs in the new Autumn/Winter Robinsons catalogue.

Interested in the stable & turnout rug for our QH mare. Measures as 5ft9 but wearing 6fts for width but they are a bit long. Do you think she would need 5ft9 or 6ft in these Rambo QH rugs?

Thanks

I don't know what it is but the fly sheets always seem to come up smaller than the other rugs by the same brand. I have a very chunky paint horse and the SlumberDown (Fal's cheaper brand!) are great - in fact I've had to go a size down on his usual 6'3" size with the stable rug because their 6'3" drowned him!!!
Good Luck!!!

My horse wears a GG Australia fly rug. He is a big bottomed 14.3hh & the rug is his usual size of 6'3. It is a perfect fit & very hard wearing. Not sure if this brand can be shipped to the uk as I brought it over with me. It would be worth searching the net for it for those with problem fits with uk brands.
