Denise Lane sent me this email yesterday:
You as owner will need to be a BR member as explained. However you will need to be NRHA as well. (your trainer) is already an NRHA member and BR member. Joining fee is $50 dollars but will only last you until the end of the year. Unfortunately we have no control over this.
The fee is now $60 according to the NRHA website - but at this rate. $10 is a puff in the wind!!

I have had to make some corrections to my original post, an I appologise for my mis-communication. Just to shed a litle light on this situation. The show on 6-7 October is a BR show, you do not need to be an NRHA member for the green as grass class, but for the open and non-pro yes you do. BR memberships and BR comp licence's can be done on the day in the show office if required.
I hope this helps all who are having some difficulty in deciding whether to go or not.
This BR show is set to be a very good one with lots of prizes, vouchers from sadle stores, rugs ect in all classes over the weekend.
If anyone has any more questions please feel free to contact any member of BR council.
Andrew

Then why have I been told by Denise Lane that I have to have an NRHA membership to enter any classes that are not Green as Grass???
This is even more upsetting now if I keep getting all this conflicting information.
Yes, this will decide if I go to the show, no point in going to just sit around with a horse that can't compete.

The funny thing about all this is my young mare will only be entering the open classes to use a schooling runs as she is not ready to go all out to have a shot at winning!!
The website says:
*If you compete in any NRHA class it is mandatory that you join British Reining, the official UKaffiliate.
It does not say you have to join NRHA to be a BR member, but the fees are listed together.
I will call Peter later today to sort this out!

I really want to thank everyone for the advice and help on this subject of memberships!
If I am not the only one confused, then I hope it helped sort things out for others before they came to the show to be disappointed.
Even after all this, believe it or not, I am considering jumping through all the hoops to help my girl get the much needed show experience on such a great surface!
