Based on the western competition rule description kindly posted on this thread, are we allowed to compete in Western Synthetic saddles does anyone think?

Hi,

I stock the Barefoot saddles, and have tried to get the Bob Marshall ones but it is really tricky

The other treeless saddle that is beautiful is the new Ansur one. It is REALLY nice But they are not allowed to distribute throughout Europe

We are limited on the treeless western saddle front atm

Hi There Shiny Mole
Yes in WES competitions.
The competition rule that was previously posted was taken straight from the AQHA rule book (rule 443 section 2) I believe - I've just read it and there is nothing in that section that mentions synthetic western saddles so technically it's not prohibitted although checking with the show organiser might be a plan.
On a slightly different note the AQHA rule book does stipulate that a leather saddle must be used in any English AQHA classes ie Hunt Seat etc etc

Thanks Belle,
Its just a starter saddle for him really, and I dont want to get something leather (and expensive!) fitted until he is fully grown and not likely to change too much more - but its good to know I should be able to use it for shows next year!

Hi, I love my Bob Marshall treeless western saddle, which looks just like a normal western saddle. I have seen other treeless but nothing compares in comfort or looks. Hope the attached picture (if it loads OK) gives you some idea.
