Does anyone know what size the red (wide) Wintec gullet is and whether this would be the same gullet size needed for a western saddle?

A friend is keen to convert but I can’t help with technical tack questions

I do not know the answer to this question but would just like to add that the rest of the saddle must fit really well too and follow the contours of the horses back otherwise it will not fit, even if the gullet is the right size.

Sorry if you were already aware of the above but the Wintec synthetic western saddle truly fits very few horses.

Maybe you could contact Wintec directly?

Yep have tried to tell her that it isn't as easy as many people think and that a 'one size fits all' attitude is not the right one to have.

I am finding it difficult to find something to fit my horse properly and have given up so far so am riding bareback at the mo.

Red is a wide in a Wintec. It doesnt really compare, but I would suggest it would be nearer a Western Saddle 71/2" between the front chonchos.

Echo what's aready been said that an English Wintec doesn't fit every horse no matter what gullet and the WINTEC WESTERN won't fit much!!

Re wintec saddles does that apply to the semi qh bars or is the full qh just as bad?

It is both I am afraid. They are fixed size that will only fit one type of horse. They have hardly any flare over the shoulder so only *might* fit slab sided horses with no noticeable shoulder shape.
