Hi Guys

Just bought a new cinch for my wonderful new saddle. There was so much choice and so many different opinions that I thought I would see what type all of you guys have got?

Cattleman's neoprene lined one. Nice and broad and very comfy for sensitive madam. Was very sceptical as I like nice leather girths on my English tack, but don't think the trainer would be too keen to get the saddle soap out - they all give me funny looks when I clean the tack before shows!

I always use the neoprene ones too. They are really comfy for the horse and last for ages.

I have seen a number of reactions form neoprene. Although they seem to work for most. I quite like the Mattes Equestrian sheepskin cinches. They do 3 different shapes of cinch too. Although, they are no good if you need grip.

Cattleman's neoprene cinch for my QH, broad, comfy and great for keeping clean of sweat, hair sand and grit. Pro Choice wool lined cinch for my very sensitive and ticklish sport horse! Best for the distance riding we do as it wicks away moisture.

Neoprene is great for normal use. Warning - do not use for extensive trail riding! The sweat underneath starts reaaly soring up the horse. On the OTR ride across wyoming each year we find mohair string cinches and felt lined nylon work best. Like wise for saddle pads that have neoprene inserts. Keeps our vet busy!
