If a few of you had read all of this post, it was not breeding stock I had a problem with. Of course the bloodlines of foreign breeds, bred in this country have to be imported, to improve and maintain a small gene pool.

As for FPD appaloosa stallions in this country I know of 3 already here, and a few more in France.

It was gelded riding horses i had problems with. Just scan the for sales lists, the internet sales listings, there are pages of horses.Surely every one should be able to find the horse of their dreams over here! OK Western trained horses are a rarity at the moment, but retraining an english horse is not a huge job, with a bit of help, most horses take to it really well!

At the end of the day, people will do as they wish.

Also people are entitled to their views and as far as i know allowed to express them. Whether this is not a view shared by others, does not make it wrong.Equally just because a view or opinion is held by a majority does not make it right.

If your happy with the horse you have, then i am more than happy for you.

How about we call this topic a day before someone really does upset someone else and gets involved in a proper LIBEL case (so far no-one has mentioned names etc but it won't be long before they do!) Everyone is entitled to their own freedom of choice (or has someone changed the rules for UK?) so leave it at that for heavens sake. ALL horses have a job to do somewhere and we are obviously not all going to agree what that is or what breed is the best (is there a BEST breed?), so what the h*ll does it matter as long as they are all loved and cared for!!!!!!!!!! Enough now lets change the subject please!

Quarter horse mad - I agree completely but while no names were mentioned I think you'll find the completely out of context reference to a 4yo stallion doing a 16 Km ride (dear god its like *almost* crossing the andes... must have taken days!!) Is our stallion and I am far from amused. But hey ho, I'll take this no further on the forum because I know the western world is a small place and I have a long memory!!!

AND...........as for FPD stallions- l ment that are BORN here-and FPD- yes l KNOW there are others imported...3...not a HUGE number is it?(HOW many are LOUD LEOPARDS?????) Not compared with just HOW MANY reg BApS or APHC(UK) stallions that there are here!

AND.if you new Laura personally- then lm sure you would NOT be posting things like you have about her!
She knows more about horses- their care, management, breeding etc- that you EVER will!
She is ALSO a very NICE person- which l doubt you are!
I rest my case!!!

I'm confused, why would a 4 year old horse ( in good condition ) NOT do a 16km ride?

We're highly confused too! You know we took this criollo (the one according to Gem that has, terrible condition, no topline, foul conformation and poor feet) and double chukka'd him this weekend

Tis a terrible thing to make your stallion work for a living!!!
