OK, so we already know you can't please all of the people all of the time.........and that those enthusiasts to the north have a difficult time finding shows, trainers etc that are within a reasonable drive. But now I am lead to understand that yet ANOTHER show is to be held at Horse Creek Farm - AQHAUK National is apparently going there too.

So that makes it, QH2000, Eastcoast Circuit, BR shows and now AQHAUK - I wonder if David will start renting permanent pitches with hookups - if we are going to show, I will be spending so much time over there I might as well live there!!!

I suppose with rising fuel costs as they are, I will have to get riding my boy and start showing WES, just to afford to show.

Hopefully the AQHAUK National will at least move venues each year to ease the cost on those not within the 100 mile radius of March.

J

Unfortunately until such time that we in the UK have more than 1 arena which can accommodate all western disciplines I fear that this will be a common thread. Maybe Bodiam may now be an option for future as it has an outdoor arena.

Yeah, we have very mixed feelings about the breed show being at March...love the arena, love the SQH team, love the atmosphere.
Hate the journey (altho we're reasonably central and probably shouldn't moan too much!) and not keen on the stables which get very wet if it rains a lot and threaten to take off if it is windy!
We're still very committed to attending...just hope the weather is kind...

Yes its the old story - if anyone out there knows of suitable arenas - let the show organisers know.

Regarding shows.I understand that the Quarter Horse Shows run at a loss, I am also led to believe the majority of Q H`s are in and around Cambridgeshire and adjoining Counties, would you suggest they move the shows to a less QH area and lose even more money?

No that is incorrect - its as simple as needing a suitable venue. For example - it needs 2 large arenas - at least one under cover - pref both, stabling for over 100 horses or a site for temporaries. Parking - nd a suitable surface - alright the surface is mostly for the reiners - but you need everyone there for a successful show.
