Can anyone recommend shows in Germany that would be worth a visit, we go to Hannover quite regularly to visit frends and would like to tie this in with seeing some western over there, any reccommendations for dates/venues to base our next visit around?

Unfortunately you just missed it but the Bavarian Summer Show is one we go to every year. It is based in Kreuth Arena, Reiden near Nuremberg - nearest airport. It incorporates the Pleasure Celebration and is a really great show. Jane Wallace (East Coast Circuit) has just won the 2 year old Longe Line European Championship there.

Have a look at www.americana.de It is 3-7 Sept in Augsburg. There is a video of some the 2006 show on the website but be warned it is one hour long, if you fast forward to near the end there are some quite interesting trail classes! There are 6 of us going from 4-7 Sept. Never been before so cannot say whether it is recommended.
