He is a nice stamp, will look great with a western saddle on!

Is nt it fun watching them alter as they mature. Our last mare started out chesnut with a lacey little blanket. When she was nine she was a white horse with a few little spots and orange ears!

Our appy at the moment, was black as a foal, still black as a 3 year old, a very few white hairs along her flanks. She is non characteristic and is stubbornly remaining so. Stumps people when we say she is an appaloosa, they always ask 'Wheres the spots?'Even our vet!

I recommend you visiting the ApHC Nationals, you will realise how really nice your boy is.Take yourself if not him.

15 and 16 August Moreton Morell, Warwickshire.

You will need to contact the ApHC for entry forms, they are usually on the website to download, but do not seem to be, at the mo.

www.aphcuk.org

the contact details are all on there.

We wont be there this year, too far to go with diesel prices as they are!

I don't think I will take Woody... it's a bit far and I agree with diesel the price it is it would cost a fortune - but I quite fancy going to see what the other appy's are like.
I didn't think he would do very well as he hasn't got big spots or a blanket just on his hind like lots have.

Lottie - he is Exbury out of Exbury Fantasy Bay and Amazing Moonstruck

Hi
Please note the ApHC UK National Breed Show is on the 16th & 17th August (Sat & Sun).
Aside from many classes to suit ALL appaloosas registered with the ApHC/ApHC UK we also have a stallion parade and after that a parade of horses for sale on the Saturday evening in the covered outdoor arena next to the evening 'buffet' kindly supplied by Tuscany Sands Stud.
Regarding your appaloosas markings please do not feel that the bigger the spots the better it will do - not so! Some of our appys are solid (no spots) and some, like my stallion, have a few small spots (18 in fact)! The colour and markings are a bonus it is still a breed type and is judged on its conformation and manners, sometimes the markings if the class is for Leopards, Blankets, Other etc. We also have ridden classes ranging from show jumping to dressage, novice walk, jog to open trail,
something to interest everyone, please come and see for yourself. You will be very welcome. Regarding diesel, dreading the cost but the national show is my 'holiday' my one indulgence a year! And I know that is the case for many of my appy friends.Hope to see you there, with or without your lovely appy. Sue n Roux
