Glad everyone had a good time. On the note about splitting classes it was the judge AND the show team that decided numbers for the go rounds so it will be just as well split who ever judges the next show I should think.
I think Sovereign did a great job of offering so many different levels of class in each discipline ie. Walk/Jog, Youth, Novice, Amateur and Open and this was listed as a Fun show not a Novice only show - as far as I could see the more experienced riders were decent enough to enter either the Amateur or Open Classes - although as it wasn't a WES or AQHA affiliated show it had it's own entry guidelines (on the schedule).
Good Luck to everyone at the next one!

I agree the entry guidelines for each level were great, i think it would've made the classes much fairer.

Also i thought the range of classes they offered was very accommodating for everyone.

My earlier comment re. experienced riders entering novice classes wasn't aimed at this show.

Belle - i don't know how you & Alan managed to keep going till that time, i think i woul've needed a nap part way through the day!!

Well done Jjessky!!

well said belle
shall we look at this from a different view? I am a novice amateur AQHA rider but competed at the show it amateur. I have no ill feeling to the competitors who were in walk and jog novice and then in the same amateur class as me.

I really don't think this needs to be turned into a debate about who should enter what!

It was just a passing observation & comment that i and someone else made & wasn't a dig at anyone. I agree wholly that it can definately go both ways! Absolutely!

I don't think anyone has any 'ill feelings' towards anyone & anyone can enter whatever they like! (entry guidelines permitting !)

In fairness the Show Team did kindly schedule in 3 breaks throughout the day - apparently for warm ups, but maybe they also knew Al wouldn't make it through the day without plenty of coffee and bacon butty top ups!!!!
