Is anyone interested in joining a Reining Horse Syndicate?

I have costed that for total cost of $55000 a horse could be purchased, trained in the states and shown at the Futurities.

In investment terms that would mean for 10 people an intitial cost of $3500 (approx ?1800) followed by an monthly outlay of approx $100 (?50 something pounds).

As with all horses there great risks, but this is a chance to be involved in a real opportunity to own a future Futurity prospect, with possibilities for returns from stud fees and winnings.

seems a good idea only problem ive no spare cash at the moment :'(
this is popular in horse racing, the other thing people seem to be doing is to buy a horse in the states and keep it with a trainer over there then go over to show it!!themseves !! its not so crazy when you add up the cost of keeping a horse here and the cost of fuel to get to shows ,entry fees, stableing etc.. then to find out the surface is crap >
the lower cost of living and exchange rates over there, only problem is maybe you wont want to come back like some of the folks we used to see at the shows ;D

I am just testing the water with people at the moment.

I have already negotiated the purchase of a horseand training with a trainer that has already produced top futurity winners.

Amazingly the trainers in the states charge in dollars what we charge in pounds, due to the lower costs over there.

It would be nice to see a UK owned horse in the finals.

Of course there is the opportunity for owners to visit their investments.

no wonder trainers can work cheaply!! how long can we survive property prices here, its takeing more and more of earnings just to live, never mind having something left over for hobbys? if you have somewhere paid for great but what about folk trying to get started .. then theres taxes :'(

The syndicate idea is a great way to extend the UK's involvment in reining. It is a concept that was discussed on BR council going right back to last year and if I am not mistaken reported in the BR newsletter (and or) general feedback through the AGM.
I see no reason why we cannot push our sport forward, especially on the European stage by the same method which is quite normal in Horse Racing.

Good idea and keep 'em coming

If all BR members could share a stake in a syndicate, what would the average cost per member be?

I assume that if 100 members would be interested it would be around $350 up front and $10 per month, or about ?190 and ?6.

What a cheap way to own a world class contender that could compete at the European Futurities or the American Futurities.

If anyone is seriously interested mail direct or contact BR and lobby their interest.
