Area 6 Show Abergavenny 2008/09/15 05:37 Karma: 1
Thanks to Ann for putting on a great show yesterday, and to all the helpers/sponsors/tradestands/competitors etc who made the show a great success. It was good to see so many spectators many of whom have never seen western before, so thank you Roger for taking the time to explain the classes to them. The venue was easy to get to and in a superb setting, and even the sun was shining for us!

It was lovely to go to a show which wasn't over 3 hours drive.

It was a lovely venue, with good catering facilities, (still can't really work out why I had fried spring onions with my bacon roll! - but they were lovely)

The weather was more than kind, and the ambience was really friendly.

As one of the many sponsors of the show I would like to congratulate all the organisers and sincerely hope there will be a repeat next year - hopefully with more competitors, although the amount that were there were really friendly and put on a good show. I believe there were a few who could not come at the last moment which was a shame.

Well done to competitors also.

Being here in the far west of Wales it was nice to put some faces to names and talk horses.

Came home feeling very satisfied that I had gone in the first place.

Well done - roll on next year!

Just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this show, sponsors, competitors, spectators, and helpers. It was a great 'shop window' for western, and hopefully we have some new converts.

Watch this space for next year!

I totally agree with all the good things said about this show - we found the venue easily and in really good time from Ludlow - only an 1hr1/4 down the road.

Also a fabulous setting with the black mountains!

A real shame that more competitos didnt make the effort for such a well sponsered show the prizes were well received and very much appreciated. A sincere pat on the back for the show team who put together a brilliant show look forward to next year - and please everybody more competitor support is needed it's well worth the time and money!!!

We had a bad start in the morning with the pleasure not going our way but Mont redeemed himself hugely in the afternoon with two consecutive 71 scores in the Trail! Well chuffed.

Thanks again everybody for an excellent days showing.

Well done Anne, glad the new show went off well!

I was really looking forward to showing Tommi a stone's throw from where he was born and bred... Sadly, what with a thrown shoe, a friction rub (both horse's, not rider's!!) and - so I discovered yesterday - a small leak on the horsebox's fuel tank , it wasn't to be - but hopefully we can look forward to Take II next year!

I also had to back out at the last minute as my mare went lame with a bruised foot! I was looking forward to this show as it was to be my last of the season (riding in that is). We hope to make next year!!
