OK, so showing isn't everyone's cup of tea nor is it the 'b' all and end all; however, for someone who never really planned to show AQHA this year and who has miraculously participated at 10 shows, I was pretty chuffed last night to receive an email from AQHA saying I was a 10 show winner under their 'Show Up!' program and a cap and jacket were on their way to me (wheee, free jacket, that alone made my day in this economic climate!! Tommi can have the cap, I always did look a plonker in one

)
Given various comments throughout the show season about the increasing difficulty in attending shows, maybe the various UK organisations might consider similar schemes - to incentivise all new participants, whether they end up right up there in the points and ribbons, or not.
Am I alone in feeling a bit 'warm and fluffy' in my new-found sense of being rewarded for commitment that a scheme such as 'Show Up!' brings? Or could there be some mileage in similar schemes for our UK Western organisations? Needn't be merchandise-based, maybe free entries or some other incentive? Just a thought...
