I think the problem is if you know anything about saddles and saddle fit its not ideal to buy something that my or may not fit you or your horse
in a auction, what do you do if it wont fit?? I guess the cheap and nasty sell to people who dont know any better just my two Cents...

Although not related to tack, I echo the remarks made by somebody here that people just want to pay pennies on ebay. I put on two designer dresses and two designer coats, all worn genuinely only once and just not right for various reasons and I didn't get a single bite even though they were priced to sell and very cheap.

I bought a Circle Y from your rodeoange. Yours was by far the best advert and all your extra help texting me measurements was fab. It fits my mare a treat! So thank you very much!

I agree that people expect something for nothing on Ebay (or car boots for that matter!) I have had some quality stuff on Ebay and none of it sold, could not afford to sell it for peanuts. Many people don't know what the good stuff is, so they go for the cheap crap and wonder why that is excatly what they get. If you want quality then you have to pay for it! I would not personally buy a saddle from such a site, I would want to see it on the horse before I bought it. Have had a circle Y halter up on Ebay several times and not even a bid, yet Royal King (Indian Leather crap)sells! My Chavez stuff all sold privately and not on Ebay either, as for the books and DVD's/Videos they were all sold for less than I paid, so people missed out on some bargains!

I know there is a lot of crap on ebay, but some people can't afford to buy an expensive (even second hand saddle) at the time they decide to start western riding, along with all the other costs. I bought my saddle of ebay for £150. It is not the highest quality saddle in the world and yes is probably made from Indian leather, but fits my horse (I guess I am lucky in having fairly shapless horse) , is comfy for me and does the job. I also cannot afford a seperate show saddle this year, so am "doing up" my "cheap" saddle with some silver conchos. it looks fine, and I feel kinda proud of it.
When I can afford a really nice saddle, I will appreciate it all the more.
