For those who watched the Anglia regional news story at 6pm on 11th July about the suitability of the QH for people with disabilities. I have received the following email which I have edited very slightly for the purpose of the article. Maybe someone out there would be able to help.
Dear Sirs,
I am led to believe that the Quarter Horse has a nature suited to an individual with a disability and as such the breed would be right for Ms Rhodes as she was always a Western rider.
The Rider Beverli Rhodes:
There are many interviews on both Sky and BBC News 24, Telegraph, News of the World, The Scotsman, Sunday Times, Financial Times etc as well as various press articles and websites by placing Beverli Rhodes survivor 7/7 into Google there will be pages of information available.
Background:
The Foundation does not have a website as yet all services are provided to survivors by volunteers. We receive no monies, grants or donations. We offer advice and moral psychological assistance to those affected or injured but the London Bombings of 2005, and now those as a result of the recent attacks. We also fight the cases for compensation for the survivors on a no-win no fee basis through a groups of highly trained solicitors that assist us on a no fee basis.
The Foundation undertakes four research paper per year and this Autumn will release "London Bombings - the true costs" which highlights the economic, heath, social and political costs of the bombings.
All our volunteers offer their time free of charge.
Today we completed an insert for ITV Anglian and a London TV station on her first ride and lesson back in the saddle after two years, the shoot took place at the Knights End Quarter Horses barn in March Cambridgeshire with Andrew Fox.
Sponsorship/reduced sale fee:
As we will be purchasing the horse ideally if there was a significant reduction in price or even a donation of a 3 year old mare that Ms Rhodes could potentially take to the circuit we would assure press coverage and all forms of media throughout Europe. The costs to the Foundation for the shipping and trucking costs to the livery yard will be covered. The horse would be representative of the London Bombings Foundation in honour of those that lost their lives prematurely and all the survivors of all London Bombings.
Garden of England Trophy Sponsorship:
We will be in a position to send a cheque of £50 to use against a prize named on behalf of the London Bombings Foundation - Beverli Rhodes. Please let us know where to send the trophy.
Please do pass this information across to any other breeder or owner that may be in a position to assist this talented rider achieve her dream in spite of her medical difficulties.
Kindest regards
Dr Tina Beckham
