THE ‘BE NICE’ HALTER

 

 

The  Be Nice Halter is an excellent and humane training device imported from America: The design is patented and though there have been imitations manufactured, nothing else is so effective.

When you are handling your horse, you are always in a training situation. If you do your everyday handling with the Be Nice Halter you are in better control at all times. You can correct and discipline in an instant, so that your animal will never develop any bad habits.

The halter works on the simple principle that when the horse resists, pressure is automatically applied and when the animal begins to co-operate, the pressure is automatically released. Therefore it is not just a restraint but a very effective training device as well.

Constructed from a braid on braid nylon/dacron rope, the rings and side buckle are of cast bronze. The slide is of high-tensile moulded nylon. We have great confidence in the materials and workmanship of the Be Nice Halter. We guarantee our halter to be free of material defects and workmanship, but needless to say, we cannot guarantee that it will not break. We do, however, guarantee that if it does, we will replace it.

 

Please note the Be Nice Halter is intended solely as a training aid and should NEVER be left on an unattended horse, whether turned out or tied up. No responsibility can be taken for misuse.

 

FITTING THE BE NICE HALTER

In order for the halter to work effectively, the noseband should fall an inch and a half below the cheekbone of the horse.

To determine the correct size, find the distance between the two points where the cheek knots will fall. Measure the horse from the bottom of the cheek bone over the poll top the bottom of the opposite cheek bone, then add three inches. The measurement, increasing in 2 inch increments will correspond to sizes as follows:

  

Please DO NOT untie the knots. Some adjustment can be obtained by moving the plastic slide up or down slightly. If the halter does not fit, return it for replacement in the correct size. The halter should not be so tight that it applies pressure all the time.

 

For loading, leading, lunging, training, but not leaving a horse unattended either tied up or turned out
