Mares

Welcome to our mares page. We have tried to select our mares carefully by conformation, temperament and pedigree. Our mares have names such as Playgun, Doc Bar, Joe Cody, Zero Skipkeo, Professor's Gold, Peppy San Badger, Rey del Rojo and many more in their ancestry. By importing some mares we have tried to introduce some new bloodlines to the UK and, hopefully, this will result in superb foals, especially when crossed with our own Tinsel King! We have now imported two paint horse overo mares from Canada (scroll down the page - it's very large!) who we hope will prove to be great assets for us. We also have some partbred QH mares and non QH mares producing foals by Tinsel King giving a less expensive option for those of you who aren't too worried about the papers. If you have any queries, please ask and we will do our best to help. All enquiries for 2008 foals welcome. See our For Sale page for details of youngstock currently available.

Quarter Horse Mares

Do Bee A Margarita (Willow)

1999 dun mare by Do Bees Dun Buster ex Margarita on the Rox. Willow joined us in December 2005. She has been shown extensively in hand and under saddle in Florida. Although she will join the brood mares eventually, at the moment she is proving to be a nice riding mare, being quiet to ride out and generally pleasant to be around. Due to the foot and mouth disease outbreak we were not able to attend many events in 2007 but had a great time trail riding and recently have had some enjoyable excursions on pleasure rides at the Cotswold Farm Park. We also took part in a Kelly Marks Indoor Trec Competition in February, gaining a creditable 3rd at our first attempt.

Chipadee Reignlady (Queenie)

2001 sorrel mare by Zero Skipkeo ex April Workman. We bought Queenie as a yearling filly from her breeder, Pat Dyke. she has proved to be everything a QH should be - sensible, intelligent and a pleasure to handle. She has looks to match. She produced her first foal, by TK, in March 2006 - an outstanding palomino filly, Acorn Golden Girl. Queenie produced a filly foal to Shiny Little Spark in 2007 (see Foals 2007 page). We intend to retain this filly as she is real class. Queenie is back in foal to Sparky for 2008.

Seren Magie Joe

1998 bay mare by Red Hot Profit ex Charlene's Bar. Magie was bought in 2003 in foal to Pesky Silver Foam. She produced a beautifully made filly, Acorn Joanna, who was sold to John and Janelle Norton who are delighted with her progress. In July 2005 Mags produced a beautiful palomino filly foal who was sold to Maria Church in Glynneath (our first Welsh sale for a purebred foal!) Mags produced a gorgeous bay colt, now a gelding, by Desired Vision in 2006 who is also now sold. She is now in foal to TK for a spring 2008 foal.

Classical Blue Babe

2000 grey mare by Classical silver ex Blue Babes Cricket. As soon as we saw a picture of Blue we had to have her! She was imported in August 2003 from Wolfe Ranch, Oklahoma carrying Acorn Alexander who is a striking colt with his mother's sensible nature, now sold to John McAleavey in Northern Ireland. Blue produced a colt foal by Roslin Stud's exciting stallion Shiny Little Spark in 2005. He is the image of his dad and is now owned by Vicky Marshall in Somerset. Blue produced another stunning palomino colt foal by Tinsel King in 2007. Blue is back in foal to TK for a 2008 foal.

Gunners Blue Dandy (Pinkie)

2000 grey mare by Guns of Marietta ex Borregos Dandy. Pinkie's pedigree and disposition were the clincher here. She had been used for trail riding on the Wolfe Ranch and we saw pictures of tiny children on board! She arrived in January 2004 still shod! Pinkie is proving to be one of our best producers. She produced Acorn Blizzard in the only blizzard of March 2004. He is now sold to Julia Marshall and is proving to have an outstanding temperament. He has now been started and is going sweetly under Western saddle and has qualified for the WES Championships in Trail and Pleasure classes. Pinkie produced a 2005 filly foal by Shiny Little Spark in 2005 and presented us with another beautifully made buckskin filly foal by TK in 2006. This filly, Acorn Fine n Dandy is now being shown successfully in halter classes and has earned 1.5 halter points. (See Stud News page) Pinkie had another tremendous buckskin foal by TK in 2007, this time a colt. She returned to TK once again for her 2008 baby.

Ms San Leo Rojo

2001 sorrel mare by Little Canoso ex Miss San Rey. Rojo was imported in 2005 from Lousiana. She is a really sweet personality and super cool. She had been started and ridden in the USA prior to import. She gave us a huge scare upon arrival at Amsterdam when it was discovered that she'd foaled in flight!! Superstar that she is, she'd managed not to step on her baby or damage her in any way and was quite unruffled by all accounts! Her buckskin filly by Sonitas Count was completely unharmed by her experience and has since been sold as a prospective riding horse as has her second foal, also a buckskin filly, but this time by TK. She produced her third buckskin filly in a row in 2007 and is back in foal to TK for a 2008 foal.

Fancy Napoleonette

2000 grey mare by Eddies Badger Bar ex Got Rocks Lady. Imported from the famous Giesbrecht Ranch in Oklahoma, Fancy has exceeded all expectations. Her 2005 colt foal, Acorn Ed, is by Royal Blue Gold and now owned by Julia Marshall. Fancy foaled a gorgeous sorrel filly by TK in 2006 who is now available for sale. Fancy produced a beautiful palomino filly by TK in 2007, also for sale. See Foals 2007 page for further details. Fancy is scanned in foal to TK for her 2008 foal.

Part Bred or Non Quarter Horse Mares

Dazzle

1989 chestnut mare. Breeding unknown. We bought Dazzle as a riding mare in 1993 and subsequently used her as a brood mare. We have retained some of her offspring including Bobby Dazzler (see below). She has been a great brood mare for us and produces great partbred stock when crossed with a QH. You can see some of her offspring on our stud news page. She produced a sorrel filly in April 2006, her first foal by TK, and it must be one of her best ever and is currently for sale. Dazzle produced her ninth baby, a stunning palomino filly foal by TK in 2007. Details on Foals 2007 page. Dazzle is empty for 2008 and will probably be retired from stud duties now. She has earned her keep!!

Bobby Dazzler

1995 sorrel mare by Sonny Steele ex Dazzle. Bobs was our first try at producing a coloured horse and, guess what, we got a solid! Bobs has always been crossed with a QH or paint horse and has never produced an inferior foal. Indeed, her offspring look like purebreds and all the ones we've sold are or will be competed under western saddle. In 2005 Bobs produced a gorgeous bay colt foal who we later unfortunately lost to salmonella. In 2006 Bobs had a bay colt foal by Roslin Stud's paint stallion, Classy's Starbucks, another really super foal. We have left Bobs empty for 2007 but have covered her with TK for a 2008 foal.

Dazzling Polka

2000 sorrel mare by Red Hot Profit ex Bobby Dazzler. Polka is a section III part bred who thinks she's a section I. Polka produced our first TK baby in June 2005 - a lovely palomino filly (see For Sale page.) At the end of April Polka produced a beautiful bay colt by Tinsel King. She is hopefully back in foal to TK for a 2008 foal. See Foals 2007 page for details.

Gypsy

1993 dark bay mare by a TB and out of a cob mare. Gypsy is a ride and drive mare who has been with us on breeding loan since 2006 and produced her first foal for us in 2007, a bay colt by Tinsel King. See Foals 2007 for details. She has a great temperament and fits in very well with our herd. Gypsy will return to TK in 2008 for a 2009 foal.

Paint Horse Mares

Sum Moore Fashion

2002 red dun overo mare by Sum Moore Tin ex Ima Lacey Fashion this mare has recently arrived from W5 Paint Horses in Canada with Libby (see below). She has been lightly ridden and is in foal to HH I Got Charisma Tu, a sire bred for true versatility. With great looks and temperament Fashion is a valuable addition to our brood mare band.

WC Deliberately Dun (Libby)

2004 red dun overo mare by NTS Wild Card ex Just Plain Pretty. Libby is in foal to Sum Moore Tin for her first foal in 2008. She has a really laid back temperament and is going to make a big mare - we can't wait to see her baby!
