Foals 2007

Fancy and Muffy investigate a leading rope.
We are really proud to present our 2007 foals. We hope you will be as impressed with them as we are. All are bred to have good temperaments and be versatile. We have been really lucky to produce three palominos, two buckskins and three bays. Some are offered for sale so please ask Dorothy for details, prices and up to date photos. All should be well handled and lead at a basic level by time of weaning. As we have six dogs they are all dog proof! They should also be accustomed to farm machinery as they see it on such a regular basis. They will also have had their feet trimmed and been wormed on a regular basis. They will all be registered and passported. All are open to vet. All reasonable offers will be seriously considered so please enquire and maybe grab yourself a bargain!! A deposit will secure until weaning.
Welcome to the first foal of 2007. Born at the end of March, Acorn Boy Blue is a stunning palomino gelding out of Classical Blue Babe by Tinsel King. Boysie is actually our first purebred colt by TK. He is a sturdy, well made colt with plenty of presence and should mature at at about 15.2hh. He is bold and friendly. A very elegant foal with the added bonus of being palomino, he will be available at weaning.
Boysie has now been sold to Frances Johnson of Ross on Wye. Thank you to Frances who has also bought Thistle (see For Sale page).
Acorn Tommy Tucker is our second foal of the season and was born at the end of April. By Tinsel King, he has inherited his sire's colour. Pinkie (Gunners Blue Dandy), his dam, is one of our most proven broodmares and produces easy to handle, sensible offspring. Yet another pretty colour, being a buckskin. No white markings at present. Should mature at over 15hh. He is straight and correct with exceptional conformation. He is very friendly and is proving to be easy to handle. He is a real quality colt and has potential to be a stud colt. His yearling full sister, Acorn Fine N Dandy, has been retained and is now being shown and winning in AQHA halter classes. A great chance to buy a colt with proven bloodlines.
Tommy has now been sold and taken up residence with the Marshall family of Somerset, their FIFTH Acorn Quarter Horse. We are grateful to their continued loyalty and support.
Polka produced Duke, our third Tinsel King colt of the season. This is a bay with no white and will be registered as a Section II being 3/4 bred QH. He is a really strong boy and is very friendly and comfortable around people. He is quiet to handle. Once again he will probably make 15hh. This foal will be as near as you can get to a full QH at a fraction of the price. As you can see he is now turning a much darker dark bay colour, looks as if it could be black but more likely a dark bay. Would be equally at home going Western or English and would make an ideal horse for a young person.
Sale has now been agreed for this stunning little horse and he has gone to Sara in Llandeilo, West Wales so another Acorn QH is to stay in Wales. Congratulations on your purchase, Sara.
Jack arrived at the beginning of May. He is out of Gypsy by TK making him 1/4 cob, 1/4 TB and 1/2 QH. He will be registered as a Section III QH. He is a bay gelding with white star and snip. His mum is quite big so he will probably make at least 15.1hh and possibly more. Very straight and correct, with plenty of good bone and quite a character. Jack is the sort of colt who could do a whole range of jobs. He is a really useful type. A great family horse perhaps. £1,100 ono
Sixpence arrived on the same day as Jack - she is yet another quality Dazzle filly and, once again, by our own Tinsel King. She is a very rich palomino colour, richer than she looks in the photos especially as she is now getting her winter coat. She has a small white star and no other white markings at present. She should mature at about 15hh or so and will be registered as a Section III QH. She is also pictured above with Duke who is technically her great nephew!! Dazzle's offspring are extremely versatile and are used for a variety of jobs and compete in various disciplines. This filly is shaping up to be another of Dazzle's success stories. (To see some of Dazzle's past foals go to Stud News page.) Her older half brother Dazzling Sunbeam qualified for the Open Trail WES Championship at Moreton Morrell at the end of August. £1,100 ono
Bo Peep is the second filly of the season ex Queenie (Chipadee Reignlady) but this time by Shiny Little Spark. She is a bay filly with two white socks and is a very solid, chunky foal as would be expected from two quality parents. She is developing into a little powerhouse and has a tremendous pedigree. To be retained at present. If you like the look of this filly her dam is expecting a 2008 foal by the same stallion so look out for the full brother or sister next year, all being well.
Fancy Napoleonette produced this stunning palomino filly by TK in mid May. Miss Muffet (name pending) is a really beautiful, strong foal with a white blaze and is a stunner. Acorn Miss Muffet (name pending) is now developing and showing great muscle definition. Should be a really athletic mare. Has the pedigree for any job with show quality looks. Very straight and correct with nice action. Quite a bargain at £2,250
This is our last foal of 2007. Born at the end of June this bucksin filly is out of Ms San Leo Rojo and by Tinsel King. She is already showing tremendous muscling and should mature around 15hh. A real performance or breeding prospect for some lucky owner.
Congratulations to Emma and Justin Davis of Pembroke Dock on their purchase of this gorgeous filly who has now moved to her new home.
Duke and Muffy graze cheek to cheek.
