The mares we have at Roslin Stud have modern, foundation, halter and performance bloodlines with the emphasis being world class reining and cowhorse breeding. Not only do our mares look good on paper, they look good in real life!!. We strive to acquire mares for our breeding program with exceptional conformation and looks, athletic ability, good disposition, size and colour in addition to proven performance and producing bloodlines. We have tried to put together a variety of mares in the hope of fitting everyone's needs, and providing a range of foals for all events.But our goal is to breed a horse who can hold her own in the halter ring but go and do performance events aswell, watch this space... Our first offspring to do this are not dissappointing with Halter point earners already! Aswell as the Reserve champion 2 & 3 yr old mare in the UK in 2005 and 2006, we ended 2007 with the AQHAUK Yearling Halter futurity winner!

2005 Black Tobiano mare, registered with APHA & AQHAUK
Dot as we call her, is homebred by Classys Star Buck and out of Mistin Express below, who accumulated 2.5 halter points and 20.5 performance points in trail, western riding and pleasure gaining her Open register of merit along with being the grand champion mare at the British breed show in 1996.
Dot stands 15hh and is just to die for, temperment wise you couldnt ask for a nicer horse, when people come to see her sire, if they dont love him already they do after meeting Dot, she is the hard to get minimal tobiano, flashy without being over done, and conformationally as good as you can get, due to lack of time she isnt started yet, but she will be in spring 08, in an ideal world we would get her shown, she has inherited the most beautiful way of going, but anyway she will be bred to TSR Mighty Tuff in spring 08 and go from there, hoping for a homozygous black or buckskin!

Pesky due to a discrepency in her dams bottom side pedigree is only registered as a section 111, she has to be one of the most beautiful mares you will ever see, a wonderfully built mare having all the class of the combination of both the TB and quarter horse, she was successfully shown as a broodmare with her first foal at foot, both remaining unbeaten at there limited shows with Pesky taking a hunter championship, she had her first foal in 99 by Mountain Cash, he is now doing very well being ridden. Had a bay roan filly foal by Shiny Little Spark in 05 and had a bay roan colt by him in 06, we didnt get her bred back for 07 due to a hectic breeding season.

Nightjar is by Diptford Star Attraction He is ½ brother to Runnings Park Hill Star - former Pony of the Year and out of Blaircourt Kittiwake both possess some of the most famous and influential show horses in the country and abroad namely Pretty Polly, Cusop Fingerprint and Bwlch Valentino, she has produced 2 foals for us, Roslin Star Fire in 2000, by Pesky Silver Foam who has won everytime out in the three seasons he has been shown including championships. He is being shown on the Yorkshire circuits in 03 and has so far has remained unbeaten except for one 2nd winning overall youngstock at the Silver Horse Shoe Show case show and qualifying for the championship show in September , Nightjar herself has rarely been defeated, taking PBA and Broodmare championships, end of year High Points as well as numerous other champion and Reserves. We showed her lightly in 03 winning both her classes and taking yet another championship.
Nightjars 4 yr old son Roslin Star Fire has just qulaified for the Ponies UK championship in August 04! 2005 has again seen Roslin Starfire doing extremely well, in Sep 05 he just won the Inhand Hack of Britain at The Royal London Show!

Grey 1986 mare, 14.2hh by Pheonix Saracen the well known Appaloosa stallion and out of a Circus pony mare!
Blue was my 14.2 jumping pony, who we have had since I was 14, ohh 11 years! she is the dam of 3 Pesky Silver Foam foals, including the first foal we ever bred and the one that started all of this off!
Blue was a very successful show jumping mare with BSJA winnings, along with countless wins in Working Hunter aswell, Foaled a black to go grey colt foal in 2006.

Pesky due to a discrepency in her dams bottom side pedigree is only registered as a section 111, she has to be one of the most beautiful mares you will ever see, a wonderfully built mare having all the class of the combination of both the TB and quarter horse, she was successfully shown as a broodmare with her first foal at foot, both remaining unbeaten at there limited shows with Pesky taking a hunter championship, she had her first foal in 99 by Mountain Cash, he is now doing very well being ridden. Had a bay roan filly foal by Shiny Little Spark in 05 and had a bay roan colt by him in 06, we didnt get her bred back for 07 due to a hectic breeding season.

Nightjar is by Diptford Star Attraction He is ½ brother to Runnings Park Hill Star - former Pony of the Year and out of Blaircourt Kittiwake both possess some of the most famous and influential show horses in the country and abroad namely Pretty Polly, Cusop Fingerprint and Bwlch Valentino, she has produced 2 foals for us, Roslin Star Fire in 2000, by Pesky Silver Foam who has won everytime out in the three seasons he has been shown including championships. He is being shown on the Yorkshire circuits in 03 and has so far has remained unbeaten except for one 2nd winning overall youngstock at the Silver Horse Shoe Show case show and qualifying for the championship show in September , Nightjar herself has rarely been defeated, taking PBA and Broodmare championships, end of year High Points as well as numerous other champion and Reserves. We showed her lightly in 03 winning both her classes and taking yet another championship.
Nightjars 4 yr old son Roslin Star Fire has just qulaified for the Ponies UK championship in August 04! 2005 has again seen Roslin Starfire doing extremely well, in Sep 05 he just won the Inhand Hack of Britain at The Royal London Show!

Blue was my 14.2 jumping pony, who we have had since I was 14, ohh 11 years! she is the dam of 3 Pesky Silver Foam foals, including the first foal we ever bred and the one that started all of this off!
Blue was a very successful show jumping mare with BSJA winnings, along with countless wins in Working Hunter aswell, Foaled a black to go grey colt foal in 2006.
We hope you enjoy reading through our mares information, you will see we also breed a couple of part breds aswell as the purebreds, alot of people turn there noses at this! but we feel and have found there are so many English people who want all the qualities of the quarter horse breed but feel a partbred can offer more especially in the English showring, these mares have bred some excepional partbreds that could rival alot of purebreds!!
